Health and wellness professionals show people how to live healthier lives by exercising more and eating better foods. Doing these things makes our bodies stronger, keeps them at a healthy weight, and helps us to get sick less often and less seriously.There are many different places for health and wellness professionals to work. They might teach a company's employees how to stop smoking, lose weight, handle stress, exercise, and be healthier. They might work in a doctor's office, hospital, clinic, or nursing home. They might coach soccer or teach nutrition and other health topics in schools. They can also be found in government and counseling offices.
Preparing for the job
Of course, health and wellness professionals need to know about nutrition and exercise. They also need to know how to get people to listen to and act on their advice, so many other skills are needed, too. Marketing and promotional skills, computer skills, and speaking and writing abilities are all very important.If you would like this a job like this, you will have to earn your high school diploma and go on to college. For some types of work, like sports medicine and physical therapy, you will have to go to graduate school, as well. Some of the things you must learn include nutrition, physical education and exercise, health and wellness, and education. You will also study subjects like anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, wellness and aging, and substance abuse.

The field of health and wellness has recently become a growing area of employment. People want to know more about how to prevent illness, stay fit, eat right, and quit unhealthy habits like smoking. This means that many health and wellness professionals are needed to teach these important skills. People who study for this sort of work are likely to find a job as soon as they finish their classes. Most of these jobs will be available in assisted living centers, rehabilitation centers, and community programs for kids and adults.
