Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher
What do FCS teachers do?
Family and Consumer Sciences teachers help people learn how to be happier and healthier. They do this by teaching them things like eating healthy meals to keep fit, how to manage money, and how to choose the right clothing. They also help people to form better friendships, make stronger families, and care for their children so they grow up healthy and strong.
Family and consumer sciences teachers work in schools, community agencies, cooperative extension, businesses, and in colleges. Sometimes they want to help people in their own way, so they start their own businesses. They learn how to live their own lives better, and they enjoy sharing such important information with young children, youth, adults, and entire communities.
People who love teaching and learn how to do it well can make a big difference in the lives of individuals and families.
