The Heritage of Home Economics is a historical overview of the Home Economics profession. It was written in three distinct segments that address different historical periods. The first portion, developed in 1983, covers the formation and foundation of the profession as it existed between 1840 to 1920. The second segment was developed in 1988 to detail the development of Home Economics in the years 1920 through 1984. The final segment is currently in development. It will explore recent changes and growth in the profession between the years of 1985 and 2005.
