Kappa Omicron Nu was established in 1990 by the consolidation of Kappa Omicron Phi and Omicron Nu, founded in 1922 and 1912. Both organizations were promoting scholarship, research and leadership, and the current mission of “empowered leaders through scholarship, research, and leadership” continues those traditions. Thus, the national organization and chapters prepare scholars and researchers as leaders for the 21^st century.

Kappa Omicron Nu provides not only recognition and honor but also lifelong opportunities for networking, personal growth, and professional growth through education and service. Membership identifies you throughout your life as one who has a distinguished academic record and potential as a professional. Employers recognize the Kappa Omicron Nu key as a mark of excellence and will look to you for leadership.

Financial obligations include:

• A national initiation fee of $ ______.

• Once you are initiated as a member of Kappa Omicron Nu, you are member for life. The initial fee activates your membership and maintains your active undergraduate membership until one year following your graduation. Graduate student and faculty active memberships are maintained for one year after the year of initiation. You then have the choice of keeping membership active on a yearly basis by paying an annual fee for national and chapter membership. Your chapter active membership helps the chapter offer benefits to campus members.
