Kappa Omicron Nu is interested in enhancing the orientation
of succeeding generations of board members using the policy
mode. Because we are concerned about carrying the culture
forward and making certain that our incoming board members
are thoroughly familiar with the theory and applications of
that theory within our organizations, we have decided to embark
on a formal orientation program.
The course outlined here will be sponsored by the Kappa Omicron
Nu (KON) Leadership Academy. We have subcontracted with the
Managing Education Resource Group, LLC and Susan Stratton,
CAE, M.Ed., to facilitate the discussion and activities of
the orientation process.
It is our intent to seek a marketing partnership with the
Michigan Society of Association Executives and other ASAE
affiliates to assist in promoting this customized orientation
process to other non-profits. Each organization is expected
to financially support the educational process for its board
members.
We plan to promote this course simply to those who have already
made the commitment to Policy GovernanceSM and
must bring new Board members up to speed.
Please let us know what you think.

Handbook
Governance is about values, strategic leadership, and creating
a new world--not long-range planning, but long-range visioning.
It is obsessive consideration of ends.
